Tracking for Results with HitsConnect.com

In all honest truth, there is no point in promoting anything if you can't track your results.

The reason the big gurus make so much money is because they have big lists and they track everything they do. That way they know what works and what doesn't and they can use that knowledge to increase conversion.

I tried a couple free tracking systems and they really didn't work right. It was when I was introduced to Hits Connect that I knew I had found a tool that would work the way I wanted.

I've only been using hitsconnect.com for a week or so and it's already paid off. I had been surfing on webbizinsider a lot lately and discovered that it wasn't really paying off. I also discovered that my paid subscription to advertisingknowhow had more than double my traffic.

The final
golden nugget that I dug out was that easyhit4u outperformed all the other traffic exchanges by a long shot.

I've been using hitsconnect to track mailings to safelist as you may have seen in other posts and I really think that it's the only way find the best safelists.

Safelist Adverstising Trial

Ok, so I've been dabbling in the use of safelist lately. I've heard that you can get good results from them.

I promoted Jon Olson's Pizza Plan to 5 different safelists to see what kind of results I would get. I tracked my results using HitsConnect, which in my opinion, is a great advertising tracking tool. Here are the results after 48 hours:

1- Gotsafelist.com | Credit-Based Safelist
Sent to: 2500 | Clicks: 27 | CTR: 1%

2- herculist.com | Time Based Safelist
Sent to: 750 | Click: 0 | CTR: 0%

3- Listjoe.com | Credit-based
Sent to: 1000 | Clicks: 30 | CTR: 3%

4- Guaranteedtraffic4u | Time-Based
Sent to: unknown | Clicks: 1 |CTR: ??%

5- Guaranteedtraffic4u | Credit-based
Sent to: 2401 | Clicks: 11 | CTR: 0.5%

Total number of sign-ups: 2

Final Conversion rate: ~3%...not bad

Overall, the list that performed best was Listjoe.com. Credit based safelists seem to generate more traffic because users must click on the links to get their credits.

I encourage you all to try your hand at safelists, and don't forget to track your results using hitsconnect.com

Getting listed on the first page of google

Have you ever worked your a** off to set up a blog or site? Optimize for a specific keyword. All that and not get indexed as high as you wanted.

Here's what happened to me.

I recently got the new Fallout 3 game on PC. I loved Fallout 2 and really got into fallout 3. The only problem I had was that there where no complete fallout 3 map available. I searched everywhere on the net, but could find one.

Being a problem solver, I took it upon my self to make one. So I took screen shot of the ingame PIP map and stitched them together using mspaint. The final product was nothing great but it was the most complete map for Fallout 3.

To make sure that gamers would be able to find it easily, I created a blogger blog optimized for the keyword "complete fallout 3 map". I dropped a couple messages in fallout 3 blogs and index the blog on bookmarking sites.

Since this was a low competition keyword, I knew I would get indexed on the first page within 48 hrs. Sure enough, 48 hrs later I was indexed on the first page. As I had expected, the Big Wigs were at the top...

But what I hadn't expected was that I indexed at #10. You have to understand that this method has given me #4 to #6 position consistently. I could make sense of it...

What got me the most was that ranked at #4 was the tag for fallout 3 map of wordpress, but there where no blogs there.

****LIGHTBULB****

I jumped on it and created a wordpress blog and posted the map with the tags fallout 3 map. Added an rss widget for my blogger blog and linked back to it too.

I was instantly listed at #4...AWESOME. So was the traffic jump.

What's the lessons in this story?

Always be on the look-out for golden nuggets! When you see the opportunity, jump on it.

PS. I just did the search for "fallout 3 map" and as of the date of writing this, I am listed at #1 ON GOOGLE...WOOHOO!!!

What's the difference between blogs, squidoo lenses and hubpages

What's the difference between blogs, squidoo lenses and hubpages

Blogs will give you more flexibility when it comes to the way you want to make it look and to what you add to your blog in terms of widget.

With a blog, you can add any widget you want by using html code. With a squidoo page, you are restricted when it comes to what you can add to your lens.

In terms of SEO, squidoo lenses, blogs and hubpages (similar to squidoo) are all on the same level depending on the keyword. I've had all three index first for different keywords.

The advantage that squidoo and hubpages give over blogs is that you can you get traffic to your pages from within the website. The more traffic your page gets, the higher it will be ranked and the more traffic you will receive... that's a sweet circle.

I personally use all three for the same niche. Each of which are optimized for a different keyword.

Jon Olson's The Pizza Plan Review

I just finished reading Jon's Olsen Pizza Plan and I have to say that I'm impressed.

Jon doesn't waste your time with a huge 30 page report. This short 10 pages free report gives you the exact tools that Jon used to go from pizza flipping to 6 figure income.

The Pizza Plan outlines how he built his list using traffic exchanges and only 75$/month for his budget.

My review of the Pizza Plan is that it's worth checking out.

Free Traffic Toolbars: Maximize Surfing Time in Traffic Exchanges

Free Traffic Toolbars

Maximize Surfing Time in Traffic Exchanges

Do you get the most out of your time when surfing manual traffic exchanges? If you haven't installed these two free traffic toolbars yet, you're not. The traffic toolbars I'm talking about are freetrafficbar and instant buzz.

Free traffic toolbars are just that, toolbars with advertisement that earns you credits for your own ads. By using them while you surf the exchanges, they will display ads that will earn you credits. Not only will you get credits for surfing you'll also get get free text link ads on the traffic toolbars.

Free Traffic Bar is my favorite one because it delivers more hits to my sites and they give away a lot of free credits. The toolbar is less attractive than it's competitor, but in the end it's the hits that count.

Instant Buzz seems to be more popular and I attribute that to the fact that Mike Filsaime owns it. Mike is one of the big internet marketing gurus and he did a great job at promoting this. I have both free traffic toolbars and they both bring me traffic.

If you haven't done so already, you should sign up for the Traffic Tribulations Newsletter. I love free stuff so you'll be getting lots of that in the newsletter.

Top 3 Autosurf Traffic Exchanges

The Top 3 Autosurf Exchanges based on total amount of traffic delivered

1. 247Hits | Delivery: Very Fast | Ratio: 3:2 | Timer: 20 sec

2. Quadhits | Delivery: Very Fast | Ratio: 1:2 | Timer: 30 sec | Bonus: 1000 credits

3. Autosurf Max | Delivery: Fast | Ratio: 4:3 | Timer: 12 sec | Bonus: 100 credits

Although autosurf traffic exchanges produce one of the lowest quality of traffic, they do it in mass quantity.

You can easily get thousands of hits a day by just using autosurf exchanges.

Autosurf traffic is not good at converting, but it can be used for many other things

- Alexa ranking are based on traffic. The higher the traffic, the better the ranking.

-The same goes for hubpages and squidoo lenses. If you promote anything using these two sites, you can easily bump your pages up the ranks.

- Mass junk traffic can be converted to targeted traffic using other traffic exchanges. How does this work? Find out by reading by reading How to turn untargeted traffic into targeted traffic.

These 3 autosurf traffic exchanges are the most stable and have delivered the most hits to my site by far.

Welcome to Traffic Tribulations

I'm starting this blog to keep track of my trial and error with free and paid traffic sources.

Too often we promote an offer, opportunity or MLM and we forget to track where the traffic is coming from....where the best results are!

This is my attempt at keeping track of my best results and my worst ones.
